The Kissers

During undergrad and med school I used to play accordion in an Irish rock band
called The Kissers (named in homage of the Pogues.) They were touring the
west coast a few weeks ago, and I went out to Berkeley to see the with Jess and
Dave.

Dave and Me.

This is a shot of part of the band. That is Carrie on the fiddle and Ken on the
bass. Of the original eight members of the band, Ken is the only one left standing.
That's what life on the road does to you.

Dave and Jess hamming it up.

Nate (the bands guitar and banjer player), Jess, and I got to talking about
Nate's prominent hairiness. This lead to me divulging that I can't grow an
honest beard because I have two quarter-sized patches of skin on my chin
that are completely void of hair follicles. This naturally resulted in Dave saying
that while he can grow a thick beard...

...he has a weird bald spot on his chest similar to the weird ones on my chin.
Thanks for sharing, Dave. Jess wasn't too excited about this picture, so enjoy
while you can before the FCC makes me take it down.

After The Kissers were done, a hippy jam band played and tons of hippies came
out of the woodwork to get their groove on. I had Jess pose so I could fake taking
a picture of her and instead get one of this guy who was working it so hard on the
dance floor that he had to open up the front of his shirt and let his big hairy gut
hang out. The photo doesn't do him justice, but you get the idea.

Ken, Dave, and Jess chatting post-show.

A good-night kiss.

Much love and respect to Wisco.
