Geoff just recently bought a share in a sailboat docked 2 blocks from his house in the Marina, and somehow I lucked out and got to go with him on the maiden voyage of the...

He strikes an imposing figure when manning the helm.


The boat is pretty sweet... 35 feet long... sleeps six...


...has a mini-kitchen and bathroom... and plenty of room for coolers full of beer and a grill.


We took the boat out for a spin on the bay, cruising past the Golden Gate Bridge...


...Alcatraz...


...and downtown.


It was pretty cool to see San Francisco from the vantage point of the water.
